China’s wet markets are ‘archaic, unhygienic and wrong’

China’s wet markets are ‘archaic, unhygienic and wrong’ Queensland shadow Tourism Minister David Crisafulli says the world has been “held ransom by (a) practice that has allowed a disease to spread” which has “brought the world to its knees”.

Coronavirus has infected over 1.7 million people with more than 100,000 deaths recorded so far, and is believed to have originated from wet markets in Wuhan which Mr Crisafulli said are “an archaic practice, we can call it cultural … but it’s archaic, it’s unhygienic, and it’s wrong”.

“The same practices that caused coronavirus to start are back out there again today”.

Mr Crisafulli told Sky News host Paul Murray, China is “important” to Australia, but what is more important “is having a bit of respect for yourself,” which comes as reports reveal a communications freeze between Beijing and Canberra.
