Functioning of Heart

Functioning of Heart The heart acts as a pump in the body and maintains a constant flow of blood throughout the body. The blood from all parts is collected by two major veins called superior venacava and inferior venacava and is poured in right atrium. From this it goes into right ventricle which sends it to lungs for oxygenation. The oxygenated blood is send back to heart and is poured in left atrium by pulmonary veins. From this it is sent to left ventricle which then contracts and send the blood into aorta the major artery.
