Survivors, Survivalists and the Divine Crusade

All the stories of the saints and survivors of some disaster… are, as it were, images or shadows of the greatest of all survivor stories… that of His Majesty, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He shows us His survival wounds! He was captured, bound, imprisoned, brutally tortured and killed. He then went down into the prison of prisons but could not be kept there. They killed His Body, but could not kill His soul united to the Divine Nature. He escaped. Death could not captivate Life itself! He was “free among the dead” as King David said in the Psalms (cf. Ps. 87). And so, He came back to cheer us and show us that such trials as this present life offer are worth the trouble.
