The Chinese Communist Party needs to work on 'transparency': Peter Dutton

The Chinese Communist Party needs to work on 'transparency': Peter Dutton Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton says reports relating to Chinese flights out of Wuhan during the coronavirus outbreak demonstrate the need for “a level of transparency” on the part of the Chinese Communist party “that we haven’t seen before”.

The US state department have allegedly uncovered evidence indicating when the coronavirus first broke out, flights from Wuhan to other parts of China were stopped while international flights were allowed to continue.

Mr Dutton said told Sky News host Paul Murray questions raised about the Chinese Communist Party's response to the virus were “legitimate and reasonable”.

“This is not about Chinese people or Australian Chinese people.”

“It’s about the Communist Party of China and their behaviour and conduct,” he said.

Mr Murray said it was clear the Chinese Government “were concerned enough about what happened in their own country to lock things down, but not for planes that would end up in places like Australia”.
