The Poultry Feed Additives (कुक्कुट आहार के योगज)

The Poultry Feed Additives (कुक्कुट आहार के योगज) Modern intensive poultry production has achieved phenomenal gains in the efficient production of high quality and safe chicken meat, eggs and poultry byproducts. At the same time as making gains in production and efficiency, the industry has to maximize the health of the birds and minimize the impact of the industry on the environment. The use of feed additives has been an important part of accessing the success. The food of animals and human beings contain a wide variety of additives. In case of poultry diets these feed additives are primarily included to improve the efficiency of the pruction. Common feed additives that are generally used in poultry ration include antimicrobials, antioxidants, emulsifiers, binders, pH control agents and enzymes. In diets of human beings and pets, feed additives such as flavour enhancers, artificial and nutritive sweeteners, colours and lubricants, are also included. Growth promoting hormones are generally not added in the poultry feed. Antimicrobials have been used extensively in intensive poultry industries to minimize disease and improve growth and feed utilization. Feed Enzymes are proteins that facilitate specific chemical digestive reactions. After completion of such reactions, the enzyme disassociates and becomes available to assist in further reactions. There is a variety of sources of reactive oxygen, in normal metabolism as well as those coming directly from feed ingredients. Feed acidifiers are included to the feed to lower the pH of the feed and the gut environment. The lower pH has the potential to inhibit or partially restrict the growth of pathogenic intestinal microbes. The probiotics are live mono or mixed culture of microorganisms which are nonpathogenic, resistant to gastric and bile juices, and when ingested can beneficially affect the host animal by improving the characteristics of intestinal microflora and antagonistic action towards pathogenic bacteria by secretion of products which inhibit their development, for example bacteriocins, organic acids and hydrogen peroxide. Feed additives, in future, will play an essential role in maintaining the health of poultry in an era of no pharmaceuticals.
