
“We were supposed to have a decision on whether there would be another three weeks of lockdown on Monday,” he said.
“How do you get this decision made when your leader is still in hospital?
“There’s the suggestion among sources I’ve spoken to today that they would like to try and have him included in the say.
“Boris isn’t going to get out of hospital tomorrow, he could be there for another week and then there’s also the time he’ll need to recover.”
Mr Drill said leaving lockdowns are the biggest decisions governments can make at the moment and, if it takes place too soon, a new wave of infections could appear and undo all the hard work to push down the numbers.
“The danger the government sees is that it’s going to be 25 degrees here tomorrow.
“That’s tempting for people to go outside and have barbeques and get together, and that’s the last thing that people need to do because the UK has not hit the peak as yet.”
