US President Donald Trump said he believed a report claiming North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un was in bad health are "incorrect" and "fake", during a press conference in Washington DC on Thursday.
"I think the report was incorrect," Trump said. "We have a good relationship with North Korea. I have a good relationship with Kim Jong-un and I hope he's okay. And somebody says that's terrible. No it is not terrible. I hope he is ok and I think it was a fake report."
The report published on Monday by CNN said the North Korean leader was in "grave danger" after a cardiovascular procedure and cited an anonymous US official with access to 'intelligence' as a source.
During the press conference, Trump added he thinks the US economy will "pick up very substantially" as soon as states loosen their lockdown measures and open up, adding he believes economists "have no idea."
"[States opening up] is actually very exciting and people are just just thrilled to see it, because our country has to get back to work. They want to get back to work."
The US President added he believes social distancing guidelines may stay in place beyond the summer and that he thinks "people are going to know just out of common sense" until when the measure will be necessary.
With over 867,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and nearly 50,000 people having died with the disease so far, the United States is the worst hit country in the world, with more cases of the virus than the next five countries combined.
