Employees of a family-owned liquor store in Cicero, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, stood guard from their rooftops with firearms to fend off looters on Monday.
After days of protests in the Chicago area that have reportedly left at least two people dead, the owners and operators of the Dollar Buster liquor store decided to take matters into their own hands.
"That's how we protect our neighbourhood," said one onlooker in the recorded footage.
Widespread protests, sometimes accompanied by lootings, have shaken cities all across the United States in the aftermath of the police killing of George Floyd, leading some mayors and state governors to impose nightly curfews on their residents.
