China is expected to greatly boost its staple food grain supply in the coming ten years, according to an agricultural report released Monday. The China Agriculture Outlook Report 2020-2029, released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, provides a forecast and outlook for the market supply and demand of China's main agricultural products in ten years. It has been released for seven consecutive years.
The report said China's grain production capability bore the brunt of the novel coronavirus epidemic in the first quarter, but it can still maintain steady growth this year with enough supply and high-level yields as the country's farming structure and varieties of wheat and rice continue to improve.
