What Is Probability? Problems Understanding Probability

What Is Probability? Problems Understanding Probability What exactly are we talking about when we make probability statements? After distinguishing between subjective and objective probability, professor David Wallace discusses some of the main interpretations and philosophical difficulties about the notion of probability and how to understand it, which is notoriously difficult. As Bertrand Russell once said: "Probability is the most important concept in modern science, especially as nobody has the slightest notion what it means."

This is from a lecture given on the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics in a series given at Oxford. I thought it provided a good introduction to the interpretations and general philosophical problem of how to understand (objective) probability.
